Electromyographic and kinematic study of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty: an observational prospective cohort study

BackgroundReverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) procedures have significantly increased in the last decade as an alternative to current treatments for cuff-tear arthropathy. Since Grammont's theory 1987, few data about vivo kinetics of shoulder-girdle musculature patients with RTSA been available. The goals this study are (1) describe contribution principal muscles around by electromyography and (2) access range motion 5 movements compared normal shoulders.MethodsThis is observational prospective cohort 21 divided into 11 10 controls. muscular activity was recorded bipolar cutaneous electrodes, whereas synchronized 8 cameras.
